Day one of volunteering at the US Women’s Open. A great experience, I started the day first off at 7am on number 9 with Anna Morgan (a), Gabby Lemieux, and Ingrid Gutierrez. They were all pleasant, and was rooting for Gabby but she had a two way miss going all day and just could not get anything going. Anna played a pretty solid round until the last few holes, where a couple of three putts hurt her score. And Ingrid had a gritty round of +2, where she never let anything really get away from her. She does play a bit slow though, and Gabby plays fast…loved that.
Pine Needles is a great shape, the greens are devilish: fast and undulating, quick to roll off.
