Filling our summer of the Old Chatham closure with rounds around the area, and today is the Duke University Club. Last round here was during the last OC closure during the 2019 Senior Am. The greens are the most confounding part of this course, at least right now. Shot a 42 on the front with 3 3-putts and a four-putt! If you are below the hole/into the grain you can smash it, if above it and down grain then good luck on the 10 foot comeback putt. Remember, be below the hole at all costs.

Hole #16 is my favorite.

Notes:

  • 1 - good drive will put you just at the end of the fairway. A draw will be perfect.
  • 3 - a fading good drive can make the bunkers
  • 4 - severe slope back to front, a cross green putt to a back pin could roll all the way back fo the front.
  • 9 - good straight drive is fine
  • 11 - even a great drive straight is just a 6 iron layup short of the creek. You have to hit a big draw to have a chance.
  • 13 - hit driver all you want from the blues, hit 5W from the whites
